Update

i last left off a while ago so i have a lot to update on. so i cant remember where i left off so i might replay a couple of things. we went to Izamal, we took a tour thorugh a monstary. yes mom, i took a lot of pics for you! it was realy cool to see this place that has been there for such a long time, the town is so historic. after the tour we took a carriage ride areound the city to see all the pymerids. it has four pyermids, one to the north south east west, this was done because the myan ppl where all about the stars and moons and pleasing their gods. they were also really good at math, so there is some reason to why they specifically put these there. however he was speaking only in spanish so i couldnt understand a lot of the stuff. it was probably very intersting, but ill have to come back and take all the tours over again in english so that i can understand them. all the students on my trip are super smart and mostly fluent in spanish and im in spa for retards so i dont get anything. well after that we went to chichen itza, which is another myan ruin. like most myan cities it had one big pyermid and then a couple of other ones around it. but only the upper class citizens were allowed to enter these sturctures. there was this one section of the city where they play a game. i dont know that actual game, but what would happen is they would split into two teams. it was in a big football field but with walls on the sidelines. both of these walls had a circle sticking out of them. sorry this would be eaiser if i could download pics! well the whole point of the game was to get a disk through this circle to win the game. pretty cool:) but the person who made the goal was then sacrificed to the gods. he was beheaded, and then they would take his head to a seperate place behind the game field and bury it there along with the rest of those who had won the game. this was one of the greatest sacrifices that one could make, esp when playing this game. after that we went to an underground cenote, which is an underground swimming pool. it was really fun and the water was really cold because its fresh water. but they had these step where you could jump off of but it was only like 20-30feet at the most. Eric and kyle and i had a better jumping place but it specifically said no jumping. i didnt want to get kick out so we didnt. then we went back to chichen to watch a light show. we got there really early so our TA entertained us with his voice. hes really good at singing. then we watch a light and sound show, but the show was completely in spa so i didnt understand anything. the next day kiri (my roommate) and i walked to walmart at 130 in the afternoon. that was the stupidest thing we could have done cause it was like 125 degress and we almost died! then i was harrased by a guy dressed up like a cow while we were at walmart. but then i told them i cant speak spa and then left me alone for a while. but then tehy start trying to speak english! crazy cows! then we went with our family to watch a movie. we ended up seeing i love you man, really funny but i dont reccomend taking an old mexican catholic lady. then we just hungout with our family the whole weekend. we went to three differnt malls. however i think that they only carry midget size in clothes. i could maybe get one foot through a extra large pair of shorts here! then today we attempted to do our laundry but the place closed for a couple of hours and i had to go to salsa dance lessons. but when we got there they really werent lessons, they were workout sessions for professional salsa dancers! they were kicking and moving there legs so fast i couldnt see them! i cant dance and i tried to keep up without any success! so i gave up and went outside with greg, i really jsut want to make sure he was ok ;) i ll update later peeps. until then peace out! by the way no spell check. cant ckeck english words on a spanish computer, so there are lost of mistakes! DEAL WITH IT!!!
